Welcome! Voice lessons at the Timman Music studio are tailored to address each individual student’s needs, learning styles, and interests. Under the direction of Dr. Jessica Timman Schwefel, The Timman Music Studio is located at her home in McFarland, WI. Individual voice lessons are offered for students ages 13-adult. Group voice lessons are available for students ages 7-12 during the summer session, with a minimum of 4 students per group lesson.
Mission My mission as your voice teacher is to help you realize and unlock your potential, both as a singer and as a person. My primary goal is to guide you as you discover your voice, learning to sing with a healthy, free, and resonant tone. Singers are unique because their instruments reside in their bodies, and as a result singing is a whole body experience. Because of this, it is essential that we strengthen our kinesthetic awareness, by cultivating our mind/body connection. In fifteen years of teaching private voice, I oftentimes find that as we strengthen the voice, we gain greater insight into our best abilities. I believe the study of music engages many useful concepts such as creative thinking, problem solving, mindfulness, and more. Simply put, singing brings out the best in each of us.
